When most people think of osteopaths, they picture someone treating a sore back or a stiff neck. But the truth is, osteopaths are trained to manage so much more.

Our profession is built on a comprehensive understanding of how the body works as a whole. During our five years of university training, we study anatomy, physiology, pathology, neuroscience, and a broad range of hands-on techniques. Osteopaths don’t just focus on the site of pain—we look at the bigger picture. We consider how everything connects, including your lifestyle, stress levels, work environment, past injuries, and even the way you breathe.

Before becoming an osteopath, my world revolved around sport—particularly soccer. I played competitively for years as a teenager, and through injury, recovery, and training, I became fascinated with how the body moves and heals. That curiosity led me to start my degrees in exercise science, and then after two years transferred into Osteopathy, which gave me a strong foundation in biomechanics, performance and rehabilitation. This background still influences how I approach treatment today, especially when working with athletes or those wanting to return to movement safely and confidently.

Over the years, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge with further training in women’s and pelvic health, as well as pregnancy and postnatal care. Being a mum of two myself, I truly understand the physical and emotional demands that come with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. It’s a time when your body is constantly changing, and the support you receive can make a world of difference. Whether it’s managing pelvic pain, supporting your recovery after birth, or helping you feel more confident in your body again, osteopathy has a valuable role to play.

What many people don’t realise is just how holistic our approach is. Yes, we use hands-on techniques to help relieve pain and improve mobility. But we also guide you through movement rehabilitation, ergonomic changes, lifestyle support, and long-term strategies to help you feel better and move better.

So if you’ve ever wondered whether osteopathy could help you, the answer is—it probably can, in ways you might not expect.

If you're curious or looking for a new approach to your health, I’d love to help you on that journey.
